Family Support Initiative
Meeting physical needs identified by social workers for families in their care
FCCH is part of a growing network of churches working to better support local fostering families to further the goal of protecting children in our Commonwealth. This is a practical expression of the compassion of Christ and we love that we can do it with other churches to demonstrate the unity we have around the gospel and its transforming work in our world.
In this time of Covid-19 the pressure on the Department of Children and Families (DCF) has intensified because of the limitation the virus is putting on their interactions and support for fostering families. Our church partnership built a tool that can be used by DCF, MSPCC, and Kidsnet social workers to identify immediate, short-term physical needs of their families who may be in crisis. Churches do not replace or circumvent sustainable social systems and services, but intend to help provide relief in the gaps that exist for families in this season.
Sign up below if you are interested in supporting the short-term physical needs of families in need due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic by providing or delivering diapers, formula, groceries, and other resources as needed.
You will be contacted as needs arise by our Family Support Initiative Coordinator, Hyein Tak.
