* I was thankful to make it safely back from Nigeria. On the drive to the capital we saw 3 vehicles that had crashed on the road the day before from which no one could have walked away, and several other less serious crashes where they were actually trying to tow away the vehicles.
* While I was traveling home from Africa across the Atlantic Ocean, Nika was flying across the Pacific Ocean on her way to Vanuatu. She's now out on the island of Tanna, staying with two different families who are doing Bible translation. Please pray for her, that she would be an encouragement to them during her month there, and that God would clearly lead her as she considers a future as a Bible translator.
* I received a report from the Bhogoto team I'm working with in the Central African Republic. They were testing the Good Samaritan booklets we produced at the last workshop in April and a pastor said, "For decades we've been reading the Bible without understanding the truth of this passage. God by His Spirit is now speaking to His people in their own language. Thank you Lord for opening our eyes!"
* In another report from CAR, the Banda-Linda team shared with their people the first Scriptures translated in their language, and one person responded: "We are ready to give our lives to see the Bible translated in Banda-Linda. Until now we have been ignorant of Biblical truth, because the Scriptures we have were translated into another African language that we don't fully understand."
Horizons
* I recently read in a Seed Company publication: "Every four seconds, somewhere in the world, another person indicates a decision to follow Christ after viewing the JESUS film. It is the most translated film in history and is available in nearly 1,100 languages. With a cumulative audience in excess of 4 billion, its producers believe the JESUS film may also be the most watched film ever produced." Please pray especially for our work in Africa, that as we translate the Scriptures and produce the JESUS film, that many will respond!
When the Word has gone out to all the nations, then will the end come!
