SPRING 2008
The Fellowship Bible Class
The primary purpose of this class is two-fold. The first purpose is to study God's Word. Studying a particular book of the Bible, this class will focus on the truth of God's Word, and how that truth is applied to our lives on a daily basis. The second purpose is to facilitate community. Openly discussing the biblical text being studied, praying for the needs of those in the class, or through periodic times of fellowship outside of the class, the goal is to create an environment where people feel a part of community. If you are looking for just such a place, consider joining us. Facilitators: Dr. Sean McDonough, Dan Brendsel, Aaron Brown; Location: Room 21
Men's Discipleship and Fellowship Group (A Special Class FOR MEN ONLY)
Each week we will meet in a small group discussion format to consider a major area of living the Christian Life. Some proposed topics are Godliness, Purity, Marriage, Family, Friendship, Devotion, Prayer, Worship, Integrity, Work, Witness, Ministry, and the Tongue. The class will close with a time for the men of the group to pray for one another. Facilitator: John Tobey & Bob Murray Location: The Cafe in the Ministry Center (New Location!!)
Hitting the Pause Button: Stopping the World for Sabbath (April 6 - June 8)
Through the study and discussion of Mark Buchanan's remarkable book, The Rest of God: Restoring Your Soul by Restoring Sabbath, we will explore how we as 21st Century Christians can slow down and hear what God wants to say to us by embracing God's rest in our lives. As Buchanan writes: "Most of us feel totally ransacked. We are waylaid by endless demands and stifling routines. Even our vacations have a panicky, task-like edge to them." What we have to rediscover is how to be still in God's presence and understand the true nature and meaning of Sabbath. Understanding this aspect to our Christian lives can be truly life-changing! Facilitators: David Rox and Doug LaBudde; Location: Room 23/24
